Affiliate Disclosure

StembookDeals earns commission when you buy textbooks through our links. You deserve to know exactly how that works and what it means for the recommendations you see.
What this means in plain English
When you click a link on StembookDeals to a retailer (for example, Amazon or eBay) and buy a textbook within that retailer’s attribution window, the retailer pays us a small commission. The price you pay is the same whether you reach the retailer through our link or directly — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
How affiliate commissions do NOT influence what we show you
We are committed to showing the cheapest price for every textbook, regardless of which retailer pays us the highest commission rate. Our sorting logic ranks retailers by total cost to you (price + shipping when applicable), not by which retailer is most lucrative for us. This is the only approach that makes the service valuable to students, and we would rather lose commission than lose trust.
If we ever discover a retailer paying a higher rate that we don’t rank first, our sort order stays the same. No exceptions.
Our affiliate program participation
StembookDeals is a participant in the following affiliate programs:
- Amazon Associates— an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and related properties, including AbeBooks.com.
- eBay Partner Network— eBay’s official affiliate program for promoting listings on eBay.com.
We are also actively applying to additional affiliate networks and programs to expand retailer coverage (CJ Affiliate, FlexOffers, direct publisher programs). This page will be updated as new partnerships are approved.
How to identify an affiliate link
Any outbound link on the Site that goes to a retailer’s product or listing page should be assumed to be an affiliate link. Technical signs include tracking parameters in the URL (for example, ?tag=stembookdeals-20 on Amazon links or ?campid=5339150489 on eBay links). These parameters tell the retailer to credit us with the referral.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and the disclosure requirements of the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement and eBay Partner Network Agreement.
